Whoopi GoldbergWhoopi Goldberg is to make a reality show about her family.

The 58-year-old actress will produce the series through her One Ho Productions along with 44 Blue Productions, and will focus the program on her daughter Alex Martin, 40, who has three children in their teens and 20s, and her best friend Leisa. According to Deadline, the show will follow Alex as she tries to reinvent herself both personally and professionally with the help of her husband Bernard and Leisa, whose father is actor Lee Weaver.

"I wanted to tell the story of two best friends who experience all of the major phases of a woman's life together. Alex and Leisa have been friends since they were 17 and are both children of famous people, and are now approaching 40. My daughter just became a grandmother and her daughter just turned 24 and they are just trying to figure their lives out. This is really the story of an all-American family for a new generation; it looks a little different than the storybooks, but it's filled with love and laughter," she said.

Lindsay Lohan, Whoopi Goldberg to Appear in Glee

Lindsay LohanLindsay Lohan is set to guest star in Glee.

The troubled actress - who has previously complained about the musical TV series for mocking her stints in rehab - is reportedly in final negotiations to appear on the program to play herself as one of the celebrity judges in the annual nationals competition, website TVLine reports.

Meanwhile, Whoopi Goldberg has signed on for a stint in the show that is expected to last for three episodes. The Sister Act star will play Carmen Tibideaux, a professor at New York Academy of the Dramatic Arts (NYADA), the school which graduating students Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) and Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer) have applied to. Whoopi's character - who will first appear on May 1 - is expected to oversee the pair through their auditions.

Although Whoopi is only slated to appear this season, it is possible she may return in the future as Lea and Chris' characters will remain with the show next year, despite graduating from William McKinley High.

Whoopi’s Oops on The View

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Daytime, Talk Shows, ABC, Gossip, Video,

It seems Whoopi Goldberg has the same problem I do - telling long-bearded wizards apart. Ian McKellen (that’s Sir to you) stopped by the set of to talk about Lord of the Rings…and ended up getting asked about Harry Potter instead. Specifically, he was asked if he was “coming back” in the next Harry movie.

He explained that he might return to the Potter movies - if he was , the actor who is in them. “But I don’t play Dumbledore,” McKellen remained smooth - leave it to an Englishman. “I play in Lord of the Rings,” he explained to Whoopi. Aw, heck, who can tell the difference under all that facial hair?

On today’s show, things became quite tense between Elisabeth and during a discussion about the “N” word:

Whoopi Goldberg Addresses Former Co-Star Patrick Swayze

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Daytime, Talk Shows, ABC, Video,

On today’s episode of The View, host took time out to talk about her friend Patrick Swayze.  (It was recently announced that the Ghost star was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.)

She revealed that her memorable role in the weeper was primarily due to her former co-star’s influence.  Had Swayze not influenced director Jerry Zucker to cast Goldberg, she would not have received her 1991 win for Best Supporting Actress.
